Welcome

Community Economic Ventures, Inc. (CEVI) is a Christian, non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization. It is organized to respond to the needs of micro-entrepreneurs engaged in trading, manufacturing and service-type businesses through provision of financial and technical assistance.

 

Aimed at developing sustainability and alleviating poverty, CEVI provides small businesses a better alternative to access credit, build-up capital and generate savings. CEVI also extends appropriate consultancy services and trainings to its clients.

What's The Latest?

» CEVI will be attending the 2013 KIVA Conference, which will be held at the Century Park Hotel in Manila on October 8-13, 2013. The conference is initiated by CEVI’s longstanding partner KIVA, a non-profit organization that allows people to lend money on-line to people in developing countries.


» CEVI celebrated the Day of Prayer with the children at the Arms of Love orphanage in Bohol, Philippines. The Day of prayer was held last October 1, 2013.


» The CEVI Executive Director will attend the 2013 Partnerships against Poverty Summit on October 9 – 11, 2013 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila. The summit was organized by the Microcredit Summit Campaign, a project of RESULTS Educational Fund and the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI).


» Mahesh Dawadi, the Security Specialist of WV Nepal has assisted CEVI in conducting a Security Risks Assessment to CEVI’s operations. The initial review was conducted to five CEVI branches last September 9-20, 2013.


» Philippines’ former Chief Justice, Reynato Puno had an exposure visit to CEVI last July 28, 2013. The former Chief Justice was accompanied by the President of the CEVI Board of Trustees, Mr, Eduardo Jimenez, Interim National Director of the World Vision Development Foundation, Ms. Felomina Portales. Secretary of the CEVI Board of Trustees, Ms. Florelyn Tiu and ADP staff from World Vision Development Foundation.


» The Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees of CEVI have conducted a 10-year Strategic Planning in Cebu City, Philippines last July 12-13, 2013. The Strategic Planning was facilitated by Ms. Marie Demafelis, Strategy Director of World Vision Development Foundation.


» CEVI joined the Cash For Work Project of World Vision Development Foundation (WVDF) to provide assistance to families affected by typhoon Pablo in World Vision’s identified areas: Loreto, Agusan Sur, Cateel, Davao Oriental, Montevista and Compostela Valley Region. The project has started last July 1, 2013 and has already helped more than 12,000 families.
